PFOA general membership meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month from April through August. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. with doors open at 5:30 for a tasty "snack-luck" (like a potluck, only people bring snack foods) and usually end by 7 p.m.

The location is the same as last year -- Lazy Acres Mobile Home Court Clubhouse at 111 Dryke Road, off Highway 101 just west of Sequim. We hope to see you there, and be sure to bring a friend!

The next general meeting will be Wednesday, June 25, at Lazy Acres Court Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the snack-luck. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. We hope to see you there!

See us at the Sequim Open Aire Market

Peninsula Friends of Animals has once again been invited to staff a booth at the Saturday Open Aire Market in Sequim. "Our volunteers will be in the informational booth on June 7th, July 5th, and September 13th," said Kathy Larson, coordinating chairman. Stop by the booth and say hello. Our fundraising cookbooks, famous potholders and other items will be available for purchase along with pamphlets on adoptions, pet care, and much more.

Fashion Show and Silent Auction fundraiser a big success!

The first-ever Peninsula Friends of Animals Fashion Show and Luncheon, held on April 30, 2008, was not only fun, but a great success. Attendees, models, helpers and servers all seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. The packed event with silent auction reaped $4,720 to benefit the cats at Safe Haven and PFOA's other programs. A big thank you to Cindi Caldicott and her crew of volunteers, and to C'est Si Bon Restaurant in Port Angeles for hosting the event.

Seven lovely volunteers modeled fashions from Gottschalks at the luncheon fundrsaiser.

PFOA receives two checks from Sequim community

Elaine Caldwell, left, and Chris Ditlefsen presented two checks to Peninsula Friends of Animals board member Barbara Swedeen, center, on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. One of the donations was a $2,000 grant from the Sequim Community Foundation of which Caldwell and Ditlefsen are board members. A check for $495 came from half the ticket sales of the Dec. 19 Olympic Theatre Arts production of "The Bench." Caldwell is also a board member of OTA. The grant is designated for PFOA's emergency medical fund, available to help pets of low-income families. Thank you, SCF and OTA!

Peninsula Friends of Animals Board of Directors' meetings are held every third Wednesday of each month at Safe Haven from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. All members and the public are welcome!
