Pet Memorials

Send a photo and remembrance and/or poem of your wonderful pets when they cross over the Rainbow Bridge. When you make a donation in honor of your pet, the proceeds will help fund the new Memorial Garden, now in the planning stages at Safe Haven. The Garden will be a place where people can come to scatter the ashes of their pet and reflect in a peaceful setting in the shadow of the beautiful Olympic Mountains. A site has been selected adjacent to a lovely pond on the grounds.

We ask for a donation of $25 per entry for this special fundraiser or whatever you can afford. (It is separate from the Pet Tidings newsletter memorials.)

E-mail a favorite photo and text (poems are welcome) to pettidings@olypen.com. You may use PayPal, below, or send a check or money order to PFOA, P.O. Box 404, Sequim, WA 98382. Please specify "Memorial Garden Web Page" on your check.

Donations for the Memorial Garden without postings are welcome. If you use the PayPal button, please include a message telling us no text or photo will be forthcoming. Thank you!

Raven Spirit Lopez — June 10, 1997 - August 4, 2009

raven

Raven, our Portuguese Water Dog, became part of our family when she was 6 months old, and left this earth after 13 years of devotion to us, our three cats, the dogs she out lived, cookies, car rides and the ocean — in that order.  She asked only to be with us as much as possible. She went gently and peacefully. We love her and miss her and always will.

Champagne — 1991 - 2008

Champagne, also known as "Champ," made a family of four very happy for many years, "helping" two kids grow up from fourth grade to college. Champ got along well with her three sister kitties, had a wonderfully sweet disposition, and offered never-ending affection to her people. She loved more than anything to drink water from a dripping faucet...and to sleep on my bed. She was, quite simply, the best kitty.

Mr. Kitty — 1995 - 2008

mr. kitty

Mr. Kitty has had a full life, in many homes. He came to live with us in August '07 when no one was found who could give him a tiny insulin shot every day. He was a 13-year-old diabetic kitty.

This big boy turned out to be Mr. Personality Plus. He had a silent miouw — he would just walk to me at my desk chair, put his front paws on my leg, and open his mouth — no sound — and plainly say "pick me up; I want to sit in your lap." Ooooh a genuine lapcat! Several times a day he would do this. I was totally spoiled.

This big guy, whom I was privileged to know for only six months before he died, left a large hole in our hearts — our vets and  previous families have known him much longer.
